Indian Food in Europe

Restaurent Mala India Prague 1-A Nightmare Experience

Today was a  hot day and i had on my bucket list  for some time now to meet with a friend of mine,an elderly gentle man,a retired Banker by profession. We agreed to meet up at Restaurant Mala India in Prague 1 .

The Gentle man earns a huge respect from me for all the well built life he has lead  and is full of life experiences   in his age that always intrigue me of its great value.

We chose to meet up today for lunch at the Indian Restaurent Mala India because of its geographical situation right in the heart of Prague 1 .

Had i known my experience of the lunch today  would come out such a  nightmare ,i definitely would have chosen another venue nearby of any other Indian Restaurant (Plenty of them)

The restaurant being situated right in Krakovska Street, just away from the Down town had ideally should have been crowded during the lunch time which to my surprise looked haunted.

I over looked it as a heat related  phenomenon and we ordered for 2 lunch menus which they had from the total choice of 3 on board. The Respected Gentleman with me Mr Khanna ordered Channa chicken menu with Hot Naan and me ordering for Chicken Tikka Masala along with Basmati Rice.As an appetizer we ordered for  Red lentil soup what they had on board .To drink we ordered for some chilled beer for my senior friend and a Birell for me.

The Bar at the restaurant looked so disorganized with the staff seemingly looking uninterested and non energetic and without any enthusiasm. The whole place looked so gloomy with the interiors of the so called Indian Restaurant which actually were far from any Indian food venue.

As the lunch plates were served , i saw the quality and the quantity of the vegetable salad on the menu seemingly miserable ,therefore requested for some extra Onion Salad  with fresh green chilies lemonated(A usual Indian salad and my favorite) to which was abruptly rudely replied that we would pay extra for it (Not a very Indian Hospitality and could be gently charged as extra top of the bill at the end  without any ultimatums)

After a decent wait the extra salad did come along  with green chilies following slowly.

Now as we start to taste the not so alluring lunch menu in front of us ,i see a huge beer cylinder falling right in to the restaurant from the staircase with a noise as strong as of a bomb dropped on the place.

To our surprise ,it was the beer supplier delivering the beer to the restaurant while the guests on finger tips having lunch inside.

Since our conversation was more juicy for us ,we over looked the negatives of the place and carried on with it.

The food quality was horrible ,service absolutely at zero level with the serving staff absolutely with out any enthusiasm.

We ordered for some Masala Tea after the lunch which came in semi hot and not the one i am used to in any typical Indian Restaurant.

Its really disgusting to see that such type of restaurants like Restaurant Mala India Prague 1 are popping up in the town who claim themselves as the Indian Restaurants but are no where close to any authentic Indian Restaurant with their  horrible food quality , customer service and gloomy interiors.

We finished our lunch and as we  left we found  to our surprise coriander in the saunf served at the bar. Now this was  the peak of the nightmare experience for me.

We just left the place quietly  but i would not want to see these type of so called Indian Restaurants in future for me in Prague.

They just give a bad name to the true  authentic Indian food with its rich hospitality and who just want to earn a quick buck out of it with out the true value created what so ever.

I would definitely want to hear from others on my email or comments here if some body else had a similar experience from this place.

Enjoy the quality Indian  meals !!!
