Indian Food in Europe

Indian Food After Lockdown In UK

I enjoyed finally my first Indian food eating out after the long lockdown in UK. The place chosen was Indi’s ,a small compact Indian restaurant in Westbourne area of Bournemouth, Dorset.

It was a Sunday evening ,quiet atmosphere, a feeling of relaxation and peace at the restaurant.

I was meeting with a friend with his family. My wife was excited equally to be able to enjoy her long awaited Mango Lassi out in a restaurant.

We were greeted with huge entuhusiasm by the Restaurant staff as we entered the restaruant. We were offered a table for 5 as requested. We were guided by the waiter on the menu they had in house .While we discussed the menu Yassar, my friend with his family had already joined in.

It was a great meeting with friends after the long lockdown. His daughter has grown over the period by another 8 months ๐Ÿ™‚

I made some temporary amendments to my drinking habits in happiness and honour of the reopening of the Restaurants after the lockdown for the people.

One of them was to order for some cold Indian beer Cobra the restaurant had “on tap”. I decided to consume some alcohol for a change for me. The second, of me becoming a fully vegetarian from this month onwards. (Have not decided as yet for how long will this be ) .So I ordered for myself Dal Tadka with some hot Naan.

My first obvious choice was Paneer Tandoori and some Dahi Puri which were both not available on the evening with them .This perhaps could be one of the reasons why this restaurant will not go onto my favourite places for vegetarian Indian food.

My friend ordered for their signature dish of Kerala Balti which the staff offered with recommendation.

This he accompanied it with some Basmati rice. His wife, an enterprising business lady , ordered for some Royal Lamb.(ROYAL CUMIN, GARLIC & BLACK PEPPER MARINATED LAMB CHOPS AND COOKED IN THE CHARCOAL OVEN. SERVED WITH A SALAD.) This I am sure she enjoyed uttermost as the starter dish with her Turkish descent.

My wife for a change chose to go in for indisโ€™ Vegetable Curry which they have on the menu as a vegetarian signature dish.

For starters we ordered for some vegetable samosas for the little baby girl on the table with us with some trial of Mango lassi for her.

We enjoyed some Papadam and Pickles.

The food after lockdown was good by most of the parameters. There were a few tables occupied .The atmosphere was good and of joy .I loved the energy as we enjoyed the food and drinks as we chatted ,talked and laughed.

The table next to us had a birthday cake cut celebration which added more to the joyous atmosphere.

The service at the restaurant was satisfactory. I would give it a credit to improve upon its customer satisfaction and professionalism. Food after lockdown could become more in variety for vegetarians in my view.

For the ladies the evening ended with drinking some Indian Tea .

The experience of Indian food after lockdown was pleasant one. I will be keeping this restaurant for a revisit on my list after a couple of months to recheck on the menu for vegetarian food availability (Especially the Paneer Tandoori and Dahi Puri) which they have on menu.

With a few of the nuances on the professionalism of the service and availability of authentic Indian vegetarian dishes ,I would definitely look for a better experiences here in the future my visits to the place.

The evening went full of joy and happiness which ended up with a promised prosperous Turkish home made food from my friend’s entrepreneur wife for our next gathering ๐Ÿ™‚

Enjoy your meals!

Stay safe and love to you all !!!
